If you’re leading a remote or hybrid team right now, there’s a good chance you’ve felt this tension: Your team is technically “connected” all day… but not always actually *connecting*.
The constant digital noise from incoming emails, Slack, or Microsoft Teams pings.
The back-to-back meetings where more and more people don’t want their video on.
The challenge of keeping people engaged, connected, and well, while everyone is spending most of their day on screens.
And to be honest, most teams don’t need another productivity tool or AI hack. They need space to think, breathe, and reset. They need space to be social!
Even the most high-performing teams can start to feel the strain. Productivity can dip, and scroll sessions through LinkedIn, Instagram, X, or Threads can eat up more and more minutes of the workday. Communication can feel transactional and short. And even when everything is “working,” something can still feel… off. Relationships can drift, and hard things can go unsaid due to lowered trust.
This is especially true for teams working in digital-first industries like Communications, UX, and tech, where being online isn’t optional; it’s the job.
Before I share more about Rocket Communications, a quick note, because if you’ve been around for a while, you might be wondering:
What is GTFO!™?
GTFO!™ (Get to Freedom Online… by Getting Offline!™) is a core program from Keep Social Media Social®, currently delivered by me, Amanda.
I created it in 2020 after recognizing my own unhealthy relationship with social media and how deeply it was impacting my life, my work, and my mental health.
At the same time, I was leading my KSMS agency team and saw that they were struggling with many of the same challenges. We were all navigating an intense digital environment during COVID, and it became clear that we didn’t just need awareness… we needed a practical, hands-on way to move through the digital overwhelm we were experiencing.
What started as a personal wake-up call quickly evolved into something bigger: first a workshop, then a framework, and over the past year, something I’ve been quietly building behind the scenes into a full, adaptable program.
Today, GTFO!™ is designed for:
The model is simple: You bring the people and the funding, we bring the hands-on programming!
At its core, GTFO!™ helps people build a healthier, more intentional relationship with technology, so they can show up more fully in their work and their lives. It brings together social-emotional learning, neuroscience, art, and technology in a way that’s engaging, practical, and actually applicable to real life.
That’s exactly the environment Rocket Communications operates in.
Rocket Communications is a fully remote UX Design company in the Space Industry, where their team is solving increasingly complex challenges in a fast-moving, constantly evolving marketplace. Their work requires deep focus, creativity, and collaboration, all while being continuously connected.
Their leadership team recognized something important: If your team spends all day online, you have to be just as intentional about how they get offline.
That’s where GTFO!™, a program designed to help people build a healthier relationship with technology, came in.
Rocket Communications’s HR team brought us in not as a one-time perk, but as part of actively living out their company values, particularly their commitment to being a people-first organization. From the beginning, it was clear that this wasn’t about checking a box. It was about creating meaningful space for their team to reflect, reset, and reconnect.
Rocket Communications + GTFO!™ = Blast off. 🚀
(Okay, I had to say it… But honestly, the alignment was real.)
During their 60-minute digital GTFO!™ session, we focused on helping team members:
This is exactly the kind of moment GTFO!™ was created to support.
One of the most impactful aspects of this session was how it was designed for a fully remote environment. Participation was flexible and inclusive, allowing individuals to engage in ways that felt comfortable to them, without pressure, but with real opportunity for reflection and interaction.
“We are so glad we brought Amanda in for the GTFO!™ session. For a fully remote team like ours, the constant digital engagement can really drain productivity and well-being. The program gave our team some much-needed space to reflect honestly and provided really practical tools to set healthier technology boundaries. Amanda was thoughtful and engaging, which made a tough topic feel approachable. We also really appreciated how the format was inclusive– cameras were optional, and there was no mandatory sharing, though the interactive elements and chat feature meant everyone could participate comfortably. We'd absolutely tell other HR leaders to check out this session if they want to help their teams build a healthier relationship with technology.” -Ryan Quakenbush, aPHR, HR Generalist + Recruitment Lead
For leaders, whether you’re a CEO, Founder, COO, or part of an HR team, this work starts with one simple thing: recognition.
Recognizing that your team’s relationship with technology isn’t neutral. It’s shaping how they think, how they communicate, and how they show up every day. And in seasons that feel especially chaotic or demanding, recognition creates the opportunity to act with intention.
Not perfectly, and not all at once. But intentionally.
Rocket Communications is a great example of what it looks like to take that step.
They recognized what was happening, and instead of ignoring it, they created space to address it.
Because even in the most digital workplaces, connection and clarity don’t just happen; we have to choose them.
If you’re building something meaningful and want to invest in the well-being of your people, GTFO!™ is now available for corporate teams, schools, and small group settings.
Programs can be delivered virtually or in person, ranging from a focused 60-minute session to multi-week experiences.
We customize each engagement to align with your goals and collaborate closely with HR and leadership teams to support real challenges around connection, communication, and digital habits.
